add functions to refresh

Is there a official way to add functions to the refresh() action?

Having an editor, drag&drop, etc i want to submit/XMLHttpRequest information every time the refresh has been called. This way i can set cookies to keep things like resize cols etc.

If not, please consider to add this functionality to the grid.
