Does Active Widgets have the ability to accept data from an ADO Recordset or possibly an XML Stream?

ActiveWidgets is a client side framework. You can use ADO or any other data interfaces on the server side, but in any case you need to send the data to the browser. The grid can work with JS Arrays, CSV and XML out of the box. For anything else you would need to write a specific data model and plug it instead of the default one.
