\ and other chars ar not displayed

I am trying to display data that looks like this:

d:\datafiles\test\test01.dbf

But when the data is displayed i the GRID it looks like this:

c:datafilestesttest01.dbf

How can i fix this

use the JavaScript escape function to escape the data.
