col resize "access denied" error in IE. Only resizes col header.

When I try to drag-resize the col width in the example/grid demos using IE, I get a js error. For example in basic.htm
Line 28, Char 44311: Access is denied.
It only resizes the col header, not the rest of the rows.
Oddly, I don't get the error in the tooltips demo.
I also don't get any errors in Firefox.
Anyone else? Why? Fixes?

I haven't yet found a way to get around this if the documents are on 2 different servers and you don't have access to the document you are trying to control.
