Updating data to xml file

Hi,
i am really impressed by this editable grid.i hav a problem.i need to allow the user to enter his value and update it permenantly in the xml file.i mean in the xml file and not in the data model.how do i do it?
i am new to this and any help from anybody at the earliest would be appreciated.
