Speed still an issue?

I have been poking around the forum and I notice that in the beginning a lot of people were concerned about the speed of rendering the grid. Have not seen anything new about that so I am just wondering if there is a decrease in performance using the grid and XML?

There should be some decrease in performance if you are using XML comparing to directly setting cell text in js array. I guess the decrease should be around 20-30% (?).
