.png files

What is the reason for having the tabs.png and button.png structured like it is? Couldn't it constucted such that you have the main bars without having the tips of the right side along with it? Just a curious question.

Well, it would be possible reusing a single image (instead of having separate left and right parts) but that would require additional span element which affects performance etc.
