Would like to provide another fixed row of cells on the bottom

I would like to alter the standard four pane layout and add another pane at the bottom containing a fixed row of data. For example: say I have a table of data: this row would contain totals.

I've seen this before on the list but I'm not sure if the way to do it has changed.

Also, at some point I made like an additional fixed column on the right with similar totals.

The four pane layout is implemented in Active.Templates.Scroll class (/souce/lib/templates/scroll.js). The parts of the template are aligned using CSS absolute positioning (/source/styles/classic/scroll.css).
Maybe you can enhance it to have 3x3 layout instead of current 2x2. Have fun!
