select template

i want to apply a template for perticular cell, but not for whole coloumn.
how can i do that?
i m having a select template in the coloumn.but after selecting a perticular value in the coloumn, i want to change that select template for that perticular cell, to textbox template.
Any suggestion how to do the same?
