Sorting indicator

Is there a way for the Grid to let the user know whilst its busy sorting. I know the grid calls setStatus on the browser window..but I do not think that is something the user would see. This apparently becomes a issue when the rowset is > 200, and the user is sitting on the grid..a visual alert like "Sorting, please wait" would be great.

Any suggestions?

Or a wait cursor would be sufficient in my case. Unfortunately, I have not a response on my inquiry on this.
