when is a new version coming?

It been 9 month and there is so many other grids out there now many are free even.
I like this grid but there doesn't seem to be any new feature coming.

The new version (2.5.4) will be out very soon. And yes, I am actively working on the next major release (3.0) but it is still too early to tell when it will be ready.
