Checkbox inside Grid Cell

I inserted a checkbox inside a Grid cell, and it works great. I can select, and get the value as true/false. However the problem is, I am feeding data to the table of an XML source (table.setXML(xml)). The xml file has a value of either true/false to that perticular column. What I want to do is when the grid is refreshed with new data, I want to select or unselect the colmun based on true/false value coming from the xml. Is that possible? if so how? I've spent some time browsing through the site, and didn't find any conclusive solution. I'd really appreciate any help on this.
