What JavaScript editor are you using?

Personally I use MS Visual Studio out of habit.

But there must be a better one.

Everyone should use Firebug for javascript editing and general web development. It has so many features that your mind will surely be blown. It is amazing. It is unbelievable and all the rest. It also works great with Yahoo UI Toolkit - which is a Widget tookit that is supported by Yahoo (a large USA based Internet company). They don't have a grid like AW though. So Activewidgets is still a player.

I always use Adobe Macromedia DreamWeaver. Its simple but i love it! The editor is perfect! Dont hav bugs (like a lot of others editors).

And for debug, trace, sure, I USE FIREBUG!!! Tkz Mozilla Community for that.

Is anyone using Aptana?

http://www.aptana.com/

I was playing with it recently and it is probably the first IDE with some kind of Code Assist / Intellisense for JavaScript. It might be possible to add ActiveWidgets support if there is anyone actually using Aptana together with AW.

The JSEclipse plugin for eclipse is reasonable.

Above, I spoke of Firebug as if it were an IDE - this was an error. With just a superficial review of it I was freaking out with excitement because it allows you to change the dom live - but there is no way to save it which makes it just a profiler. Alex's Aptana discovery just might be a dreamweaver killer as they say. The dreamweaver css implementation is definitely lacking when you push it. If you haven't realized this yet quit now or you'll end up doing fixes for an irrelavent css implementation.

I use MyEclipse plugin for Eclipse3 :-) Great debugger and code assist & formatter is inbuilt. Guess for J2EE people, there can not be any better choice.

Please use Edit plus! Its the best editor. It does gives you color code info for all the syntax in JavaScript!

I was using JSEclipse and it was good. But now I've tried Aptana and it kicks its ass!
