[bug] XHTML

Hello folks

When I try to put the xhtml declaration on the top of page :

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

the grid loses itÂ´s style. My Question: DoesnÂ´t the activeui's grid support xhtml 1.1?

No. The grid was designed and tested for quirks mode only. It should be possible to fix but I did not try yet.

Any progress on this? XHTML is a documented requirement of most new apps, which I'd guess is ActiveWidget's target market.

No, I am not planning to support XHTML or any DOCTYPE which forces Internet Explorer into 'standards-compliant' mode (see http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnie60/html/cssenhancements.asp ).

I would be very interested to hear about any real-life experience developing web applications in 'content-box'/'standards-compliant' mode. While certainly possible it looks for me as much more compicated task. So I am struggling to understand why this might be necessary.

I need to use the grid control in an HTML that uses standards mode on MSIE. We're using the MSIE control in an embedded HTML renderer and are forced (for other reasons) to use non-quirks mode.

So this feature has my vote.

As an aside if you can fix it for non-quirks mode on IE it should work in Safari and KHTML too.
